About the Foothills Track Classic race
Rickman maintained the third place spot for about half of the 1600 race. Running on the heels of Mauldin's Callie Rohm, the Warrior made a final move for the four lap race title in the last 75 meters.
Rickman, a multi-sport athlete (CESA soccer), did not run track before, according to her coach Kim Lewis. "She is not the fastest on her soccer team in the first few sprints out of 10, but is always in the lead from the sixth through 10th" said Lewis. "Her passion to run and athletic abilities peaked her interest to join the track team. She dominates in the middle and long distances arena."
Lewis says Rickman is an all-around and confident athlete and its 'exciting to watch her race.' The Foothills Track Classic was Rickman's first track and field race.
The Warrior has a 3200-meter personal best of 11:09.
St. Joseph's Eva Cifuni, the 2025 SCHSL AAA state cross country champion, is your second-ranked eighth grade 1600 runner (5:21). The third-ranked runner is Heathwood Hall's Cate Leppard (5:24). Leppard finished sixth in the 2025 SCISA Cross Country Championships (19:04).
