This Week's Nominees:
Destiny Horn, Ridge View (South Carolina): Ran 11.71 to win the 100 meters at the Bojangles Blazer Twilight Invitational, topping a field of 51 runners. The #1 junior in South Carolina in the event posted the fastest time of 222 competitors across the state last week.
Olivia Taylor, Blythewood (South Carolina): Swept the sprints at the LR HOME MEET 2, winning the 200 in 24.14 and the 400 in 54.93 while adding a runner-up finish in the 100 (11.96). Her 200 and 400 times led all South Carolina competitors last week in their respective events.
Riley Vaughn, Spartanburg (South Carolina): Posted a state-leading shot put throw of 43-10.38 to win at the Spartanburg Home Meet. Also competed in the discus at the Pepsi Florida Relays, throwing 135-1.5 for fifth place.
Ana Laurient, Wando (South Carolina): Clocked 2:11.99 to capture the 800 meters at the Beach Run Invitational, winning by a comfortable margin in a field of 62 runners.
Avery Manus, Hanahan (South Carolina): Cleared a state-leading 12-9.15 to win the pole vault at the 4th Annual Iron Horse Stampede, breaking her previous PR of 12-6 set in March at the Bob Jenkins Coaches Classic.
