Daniel's C.J. Davidson wins TJ at Florida Relays, top 10 in nation

Daniel senior C.J. Davidson sealed a win in the Florida Relays triple jump, leaping 48 feet, 9.5 inches. Davidson, attending Clemson in the fall, finished second in the long jump (22-11.25). 

The mark is currently seventh in the nation and top 2011 mark in the state.

"It felt really good, " said Davidson. "Even with me not being totally pleased with my jumps. I know that winning any event at Florida Relays is a great accomplishment."

Davidson is entered in this weekend's Taco Bell Classic. 

"It was a good meet to gain my confidence. Last year I felt like I peaked too early which made it a lot harder in the end. Staying healthy is key to landing the 24 and 50 foot jumps I want."

Fellow Lion Sinead Haughey finished sixth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 59.37 seconds. Haughey's time is a new database personal best. Haughey's performance is a season state best.
