Oldest state record broken: Hanahan's Chris Brown jumps 51 feet, 2 in TJ

COLUMBIA -- Hanahan's Chris Brown broke the longest standing record in the Class AA state meet tonight in the triple jump. The record has been held since 1978. Brown leaped 51 feet, 2.5 inches. Before that Brown also passed the record with a 50 feet, 8 inches jump, prior to the record.

Ernest Marvin (Spring Valley) had the previous record of 50 feet, 6 inches.
