SCISA Championships Meet Recap

1A/2A

Girls
Hannah Burkholder of Spartanburg Christian Academy captured the individual title in the girl\'s 1A/2A 5,000-meter run Oct. 29 at the SCISA State Championships, held at Heathwood Hall in Columbia. Burkholder covered the course in 20:16 with Trinity\'s Carolyn Vaught one second behind. Molly Jones of Trinity rounded out the top three in 20:40. Spartanburg Christian took home the team title with a perfect score over Greenwood Christian\'s second place team total of 52.

Boys
Cathedral Academy\'s Shawn Griffith captured the boy\'s individual 1A/2A crown in 16:33 with teammate Jordan Weathers taking second in 16:44. Greenwood Christian\'s Isaac Stumbo was third in 17:37. Cathedral Academy was the team winner while Greenwood Christian finished second.

3A

Girls
Ashley Hall\'s Meagan Brandli was the lone female runner at the state championships to break 20 minutes enroute to a first place finish in the 3A girl\'s event. Brandli covered the 5,000 course in 19:19. Second in the 3A girl\'s race was Ben Lippen\'s Abbey Shoemaker (20:08). Jane Bouch of Porter Gaud was third. Hammond School captured the team title over Hilton Head Preparatory, 74-96.

Boys
Ben Lippen senior Graham Tribble finished first in the 3A boy\'s event in 15:16, one minute and 12 seconds ahead of second place finisher and teammate Samuel Ramos. Wilson Hall\'s Trey Parker was third in 16:39. Ben Lippen also captured the team title with 25 points to Wilson Hall\'s team total of 57.
