GREENVILLE -- Dorman coach Jerry Kimbrell was named Shrine Bowl Run assistant coach today at the South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association summer cross country meeting.
Riverside coach and association president Eric Cummings is the head coach for the Dec. 17 event. The event starts at the Shriner's Hospital in Greenville and ends in Spartanburg at Wofford's Gibbs Stadium.
The runners chosen for the run are seniors and carry the Shrine Bowl game ball with a police escort.
Kimbrell will serve as head coach in 2012.
