Who makes the cut for top 1000 all-time performers at McAlpine Park?

What an outstanding day for Georgia Harriers as Josh Brickell roared around McAlpine Park in 14:49 placing 2nd in the Boys Seeded race and Brad Hort earned his first trip to San Diego placing 6th cracking sub 15: as 2 of the best pure athletes in all of Georgia will make the trip to Foot Locker Nationals. It was a Great day for TEAM GEORGIA as the boys "team" won, scoring 67 points defeating mighty Virginia and the girls were 2nd scoring 78 points, Georgia's best showing in years...This TEAM GEORGIA thing has really improved our post season results in that when it started we had few kids run and now we are WINNING the meet! .Also of note is a strong showing from the up and coming 13/14 year olds. The ATC and Team Georgia committee are to be comended for their choices and need to take a bow as well! Pictured are the 5 Top Boys Medalists from Georgia.

CONGRATULATIONS Georgia on another outstanding year of Cross Country.  For the 10th year in a row the Atlanta Track Club has continued its generosity with youth athletics and has agreed to sponsor TEAM GEORGIA by outfitting the top 15 boys and 15 girls who will run at the Footlocker South XC meet. The Footlocker South Regional will take place in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, 11/24 and is the precursor to the National XC Championships.   

This season, the course at Carrollton has ran slower, and may have been lengthened a few meters which should favor the 'strength' runners. At press-time, it has been discussed that mats may possibly be covering the many pavement crossings which has been a sore subject for XC purists as the growth of Carollton Schools has stirred the pot enough for a few schools willing to loan the mats they have to cover the pavement. Here are the 'Runners of the Week' for the 6th week of competition. Please keep in mind, that the committee attempts to recognize different athletes for each month. Who can ever forget 'Mud Man' (making the National Page of MileSplit.com) who enjoyed his day of racing back in 2009 when storms soaked the new venue and turned the course into a quagmire, including cars getting stuck in the church parking lot...the UGA Invite is a very fun race on a unique course, (on how many other courses do you get to run with/past horses? This Saturday 25 schools will be competing including top Ranked Boys squads Walton, Marist, Norcross, Peachtree Ridge, Pope, Flowery Branch, Wheeler and Parkview. The Girls race should be very exciting as well featuring 2012 5A Champ Walton, perennial 4A Champ Marist, always loaded Peachtree Ridge and Parkview and Stage Race champs Roswell....
