2018 Mt. Pleasant Track Club Javelin Invitational

Mt. Pleasant Track Club will host a javelin-exclusive competition on April 28th, 2018 for youth athletes age 11 (as of December 31st, 2018) and older. Because competitions for South Carolina javelin throwers are so scarce, we endeavour to provide more opportunities for throwers.

Facility: The competition will be held on a 30m grass runway on the Cario Middle School field. This field is adjacent to the Park West Recreation Facility, and is where Mt. Pleasant Track Clubs shot put and discus facilities are located. Javelin spikes are recommended. Please see attached map.

Entries: Entries will be handled through Athletic.net and must be completed by 7:59 PM, Thursday April 26th. Entry fees are $5 per athlete. Entries are open to clubs, high schools, and unattached athletes.

Implements: Javelins will be provided, though athletes may elect to supply their own (subject to inspection).

Format: All athletes will receive three preliminary attempts. The top eight throwers in each division will advance to the finals and receive three more attempts. Finals will be conducted immediately after preliminaries.

Rules: The competition will be governed by USATF competition rules.

Check-In: 11-12 Girls should check in no later than 8:45 to begin warming up, and competition will begin at 9:00. Athletes in subsequent age groups should be prepared to check in immediately upon conclusion of the previous age groups competition.

Results: Results will be published on mptrackclub.com, Athletic.net, and SCRunners.com.
