USATF Region III Championships being held this weekend in SC MileSplit Staff Jul 11, 2008

Liberty Christian's Josh Morris (pictured by John Herzog) had a busy weekend at the USATF Region III Championships as he competed in three distance events and qualified for the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals in all three with runner-up finishes in the 5000 meter run (15:55.75) and 2000 meter steeplechase (6:20.0) as well as a third place showing in the 1500 meter run (4:12.48). The USATF Region III Championships are being held this weekend in Rock Hill, South Carolina as there are quite a few Virginians making the trip south in their attempts to qualify for the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships. Nelson second in 400, teammate Lauren Ellis fourth at USATF Youth Nationals Jasmin Stowers won her second-straight 100-meter hurdles national title Sunday with a win at USATF Youth Nationals in Charlotte. Stowers finished in 13.72 (W2.4) seconds in the finals. Larissa Matthews (The Arizona) was second in 14.07.
