Viking Relays Track Meet - March 19, 2011
Welcome to the 2011 Spartanburg High School 2nd Annual Viking Relays Track & Field Meet.
The 2nd Annual Viking Relays will take place on the new Mondo Track FTX surface at Spartanburg H.S.
THE VIKING TRACK & FIELD FACILITY:
This is the same track surface that was used in The Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and the IAAF World Championships in Valencia. This premium custom made track has increased the optimal traction and contact area due to the irregular size and shape tessellation pattern and has been designed to provide the best traction between track and spikes and for a greater contact area than other track systems.
This improves the athletes grip and performance. The track facility contains 8 world class lanes, LYNX MVP fully automatic timing system, two jump pits, pole vault, and two high jump areas. This complex is illuminated with Muscos Light-Structure Green Sports Lighting System.
Throwing Events Facility: Located outside the southwest corner of the Viking Track. Both the Discus and Shot Put areas have the same world class Mondo Track FTX surface that the main running track has surrounding the safety netted throwing rings with seating capacity of 60 at the throwing area.
SANCTION: This meet the Viking Relays has been sanctioned by the National Federation of State High Schools and the South Carolina High School League. High schools from the South and East Coast will be invited to take part in the meet.
ENTRY FEES: $ 75.00 per School ( Boys & Girls Teams) Make payable to Spartanburg H.S. Track & Field

Open Boys & Girls Invitational 100 meters and 1600 meters events ( limit one (1) entry per school : in the Boys 100 & 1600 and the Girls 100 & 1600 meters.
Meet Entries: All team entries must be received on line at www.scrunners.com Viking Relays. Entry limits is one (1) relay team per event, 3 field event entries per event.
AWARDS: Team Trophies will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in both the Boys & Girls Divisions. Ribbons will be awarded to the top six (6) finishers in each event. Trophies will be awarded to the winner of the Boys & Girls 100 and 1600 meters, places 2nd thru 6th will be awarded ribbons.
Admission: $ 5.00 per person
Only Spike are allowed on the Mondo Track surface ( Spikes will be sold at the meet )
