LIBERTY – The day of any high school cross country state meet can be both challenging and emotional for the athletes and their families, obviously more so when multiplied by four.
St. Joseph’s Annika Bissinger is in good position to defend her individual title and lead the Knights to defend the team title.
Seven of the top 10 Class AAA girls have run under 19 minutes this season. Flora’s Susannah Cate, the defending champion, leads the group with a 18:36 season best. Chapin sisters Alexa and Ashley Golbus have season bests three seconds apart (18:51 and 18:54).
