Chesterfield thrower looks to set personal records at Taco Bell Classic

Chesterfield junior thrower Cameron Griggs talks about goals for competing in his first Taco Bell Classic. Griggs has the top season discus mark in the state and third-best mark in the shot put.

scrunners: How is your season going?
griggs: My season is going very well. I've been having alot of fun and i've also been getting good results.

scrunners: What are wanting to achieve this weekend?
griggs: This weekend, at the Taco Bell classic, I want to achieve new PR's in Shot Put and Discus. Even if it is only an inch farther, I'm always happy to exceed my personal record.

scrunners: What does it mean to to you to be competing in the Taco Bell Classic?
griggs: To compete in the Taco Bell Classic means I will have more experience going into the state meet. This meet will allow me to compete in front of a large crowd and also compete against good throwers from other states, not just South Carolina.

scrunners: How do you feel this meet will prepare you for the rest of the season?
griggs: This meet will be great preparation for the state meet also.

scrunners: How many years have you competed in the Taco Bell meet?
griggs: This is the first time I've competed in the Taco Bell Classic and this is the largest meet I've ever been in, considering the number of athletes.

scrunners: How do you want to remember the Taco Bell meet?
griggs: I want to remember the Taco Bell Classic for breaking my personal records. My goal for this season is to throw over 170 feet in discus. I know I'm capable, it's just a matter of time. My goal for this weekend, however, is not to win, but to achieve PR's.
