What will it be like to have your dad as coach?
I am excited to run for my dad. I know he always wanted to coach me and now he gets the chance. I still haven't exactly figured out whether or not to call him dad or coach... so that is the biggest concern.
What made you decide to commit to Winthrop?
Honestly I looked into Winthrop for academics with the knowledge that I could run on the backburner. I also looked into Stetson and could have ran there but being an 800 runner I wanted to go somewhere with men's track and cross country. Growing up around the team I just felt like it was the right decision, and it helped having friends like Colby Coulter and Blake White on the team.
What was the reaction of the coaching staff?
Dad (coach) found out during a game of HORSE we were playing and he seemed like he knew all along.
