Brandon Sanders brings home two national titles from USATF Junior Olympics

Quick Striders' Brittney Waller finished first in the young women's discus Friday. Waller finished with a best mark of 148 feet, 11 inches. Quick Striders teammate Raivyn Chancellor placed fifth (133 feet, 7 inches).

Rowland, Stowers named to USA TODAY All-U.S.A. list

Ohio's Erin Pendleton was second in the event (143 feet, 5 inches).

Northwestern's Kimberleigh Riggs placed ninth of out 25 competitors in the intermediate girls pole vault (10 feet, 11.75 inches). Quick Striders' Sandi Morris, of Greenville High School, placed 13th (10 feet, 6 inches).

Brandon Sanders remained strong his second preliminary of the meet. Sanders won his youth boys 100-meter dash heat in 11.23 seconds. Sanders' time puts him second overall following the first round to Illinois' Izzy Garrison (11.20).

Mann's Briana Nelson, running with Quick Striders, won heat two preliminaries in the intermediate girls 400-meter dash. Nelson finished in 54.92 seconds, fourth overall in the preliminaries. The fastest preliminary time is 54.51 seconds (Nia Fluker).
