USATF J.O. Nationals on Thursday: S.C.'s Jeffrey Linta second in youth boys pole vault
Jeffrey Linta, competing unattached for South Carolina finished second in the youth boys pole vault Thursday at USATF National Junior Olympics in Omaha, Neb.

Rowland, Stowers named to USA TODAY All-U.S.A. list
Linta, a member of the North Myrtle Beach High School team, cleared 11 feet., 3.75 inches.
Palmetto Speed's Brandon Sanders has the top seed in qualifying rounds of the 200-meter dash.
Sanders, also entered in the 100-meter dash, finished first in heat three in 22.09 seconds. Illinois' Izzy Garrison is second after the preliminaries in 22.64 seconds.
Mann's Brittney Waller, competing for Quick Striders placed eighth in the young women's shot put. Waller threw 42 feet, 2 inches.
Waller is also competing in the discus.
Quick Striders intermediate girls 1600-meter relay team qualified for the finals in the seventh seed spot.
The team of Briana Nelson, Lauren Ellis, Miosha Jones and Ashley Davis finished in three minutes, 52.06 seconds.
The top relay seed is held by Dallas Gold (3:48.04).
