Greenville County Sheriff's Office School Enforcement Investigators have made an arrest in connection with what is being described as an airsoft gun incident that occurred the evening of Sept. 10 after 5 p.m. during a Riverside cross country practice.
The incident occurred while members of the Warriors' cross country team were practicing at East Riverside Park and involved at least one student being struck by a "pellet" from what is being described as an airsoft gun, according to the Sheriff's office.
School Enforcement Investigators followed up on a tip received that led them to identify one of the suspects involved: a student at Riverside High. The identity of the student will not be released to due the individual's age.
Investigators have not learned a motive behind the shooting and are still investigating to see if any other parties were involved, the Sheriff's office shared in a media release.
