Entry Fee

There is no entry fee for high schools to compete in the Eye Opener. Please encourage runners and parents to purchase an Eye Opener t-shirt at the meet. This is how we recoup our expenses.

Coaches do not need to declare which races they will enter. Please adhere to maximum entry limits (see above).

The International Division is the more competitive varsity division.

Schools may enter only one varsity race per gender.

The International Division is only open to schools that are members of their state NFHS governing body (as well as schools approved by these bodies).

Attention Georgia Schools: Schools that are members of the GHSA may only compete in the International Division (they must not compete in the Championship Division or Junior Varsity Division). Georgia schools that are not members of the GHSA or GISA must not compete in  the International Division.

Please plan to arrive early, as there are only two entrances into the Roger Milliken Center. Buses and vans must enter from Business I-85. Other vehicles may enter from either Business I-85 or Boiling Springs Highway/SC Highway 9.Alternative - Consider parking along I-585 Frontage Road.

Parking and admission are free.

Other Important Notes

Athletes must not warm up on the roads or parking lots of the Roger Milliken Center. There is ample space to warm up behind the start/finish area.

Buildings are off-limits.

Runners are not allowed to wade/swim in the ponds

Schools should bring their own fluids (the arboretum has no water source). There will be limited water (for runners only) at the finish line.
