MileSplit SC Future Stars: Greer Middle College's Ally Hyman

The freshman - third in Class of 2029 South Carolina cross country rankings and sibling to cross country runner Phillip Hyman - never backs down from a challenge, her coach Angie Dentler told MileSplit South Carolina.

Hyman is the second-ranked female Blazer cross country runner in the 2025 cross country season.

"Ally has been a part of the Blazer XC Family for a few years as younger sibling to Phillip Hyman," said Dentler. "We were excited for her to finally join us as a teammate this year. While we had high hopes for her, we never imagined that she would be such an integral part of the team as only a freshman."

Hyman has a personal best 5K of 18:44, set at the Woodmont Invitational Oct. 4 where she finished third in the International Girls cross country run.

The Blazers are scheduled for the Region 3-AAA Championships Oct. 25 in Woodruff and Ed Boehmke Greenville County Championships Nov. 1 in Greer.

Some other cross country performance this year include: VA Showcase (18:52, 77th), Bob Jenkins SCTCCCA Coaches Classic (19:44, 28th) and Eye Opener (19:45, 36th).

The 2025 cross country season started for Hyman with a 20:38 at the WNC Cross Country Carnival Aug. 23. Hyman has 800-meter run personal best of 2:45, 1600-meter run personal best of 5:56 and 3200-meter run best of 12:14.
