University of North Carolina bound pole vaulter Sandi Morris cleared 13 feet, three inches today in preparation to this coming weekend's USATF National Junior Olympics at the Rusty Shealy Pole Vault Club Championships.
Morris first cleared 13 feet before going 13 feet, three inches. She then attempted three times at 13 feet, six inches. (Watch video of the vault, courtesy of Rusty Shealy).
Derek Nelson won the boys competition with a 12 feet, six inches best.
The meet was held at Greenville High School's track.
Morris leaves for the national meet Thursday via Jacksonville, Fla. to California and will vault Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
