Two-mile
Spring Valley rising senior Kate Niehaus finished ninth overall in the two mile event in 10:38.28.

100-meter hurdles prelims
Brittney James (18th), Jasmine Stowers (24th), and Tysha Smith (30th) failed to qualify for the 100-hurdle finals.

Pole Vault
Liza Todd, a graduate of Dreher HS tied for 16th in the vault with a 10-11.75 best.

Triple Jump
James placed 22nd in the triple jump with a best of 36-07.00, 1.25 inches behind 21st finisher Kirsten Fields (Mount Vernon, NY).

Discus
Spartanburg High graduate Latricia Jones was one short of placing in the top 10 in the discus with a 126-01 best throw.

Boys Highlights

100-meter preliminaries
The Palmetto State trio of Calesio Newman, Charles Smith and Torric Davis finished 11th, 13th and 14th, respectively in the event, with the top eight making it to the next round in the 100.

110-meter hurdles preliminaries
Dennis Martin led the way for South Carolina in the hurdle event with a top-three finishing time of 13.99. Antoine Fant, of Anderson missed qualifying for the next round, by one spot, with Alex Reid (Middletown, NY) and Fant finishing in 14.243 and 14.249, respectively. Christian Nash placed 12th in the preliminaries with Curt McGill finishing 23rd.

Triple Jump
Charleston\'s Keith Graham (West Ashley HS) placed second highest for South Carolina in day one with a third place finish in the triple jump. Graham had a best jump of 48-07.50. Scott Pierce of Columbia finished 18th in the event.

4x200 Relay
Ridge View\'s 4x200 relay squad finished second overall in 1:26.58 with the Bulldog Striders TC capturing the title in 1:25.93.
