Girls Highlights

Youth 100
Leading way in the youth 100 was Lauren Ellis (Florence). Ellis placed fifth in 13.72 with Kelcy McCray finishing eighth.

Youth 400
In the three athlete field Ellis placed third in 1:01.76.

Youth 800
Florence High\'s Alisha Royal crossed the line second in the 800 with a final time of 2:33.89. The youth 800 field consisted of three runners.

800-meter run
State record holder Jessica Nichols (Berkeley) finished 35th out of 39 runners with a 2:19.13.

400-meter hurdles
South Carolina State University bound Tempest Vance (Westside) rounded out the top four in the event in 1:01.32.

Boys Highlights

Midget 100
Braxton Ivery (Florence) and Garrison Williams (Darlington) finished sixth and seventh, respectively in the event with times of 15.49 and 16.34.

Bantan 100
Ronald Geohagan, Jr. missed the victory by two-tenths of a second to Joshua Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. Geohaghan, Jr. crossed the line in 14.48.

200-meter dash
Torric Davis (Spring Valley HS) placed sixth in the finals in 21.48. Davis, the only South Carolina athlete to qualify for the finals in this event, ran 21.57 in the preliminaries. Davis\' preliminary time had him seeded fourth going into the finals.

Bantam 400
Ryan Ellis (Florence) and Geohaghan, Jr. finished third and fourth, respectively in the one lap event.

400-meter run
Eric Gaffney ran his second fastest time of the season in the one lap event with a 11th place time of 48.83.

800-meter run
4A State 800 Champion Toma Walker (Stratford) placed 24th in the two lap event with a season best time of 1:54.53, also a South Carolina performance best. Darrian Hodges (Spring Valley) rounded out the field in 1:57.32.

110 hurdles - finals
Dennis Martin tied for fourth in the event in 13.90. Martin was seeded third going into the event with a preliminary mark of 13.99.

400-meter hurdles
Spartanburg\'s Tyrone Murphy placed highest for South Carolina in the event with a seventh place finish. Martin crossed the line 10th.

Long Jump
Following a third place finish in the triple jump during day one of NON Keith Graham came back to finish third in the long jump in day two\'s action with a best leap of 23-11.50. John Saffold (Ridge View) rounded out the field in the long jump with a 20-11.25 best.
