Greenville alumna Sandi Morris finished second in the pole vault at USATF Junior Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Morris, a rising sophomore at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, cleared 13 feet, 7.25 inches.

Morris' second place finish qualifies the Tar Heel for the Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Miramar, Fla.

Briana Nelson (Mann/Texas) qualified for the finals of the junior women's 400-meter dash with the fourth fastest time (54.10).

Seneca alumna LaKya Brookins (University of South Carolina) qualified for the finals of the senior women's 100-meter dash with the sixth fastest time (11.14). Brookins finished eighth in the finals (11.16).

Alyssa Kulik (Mauldin/Clemson) finished 19th in the women's senior 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:07.93).
