What made you decide to commit to Winthrop?
I felt like Winthrop was a good combination of a lot of different factors. Winthrop and Rock Hill felt very home like to me, and the fact it is in-state is a plus. Coach (Ben) Paxton is great. He’s a fun person to be around but he isn’t afraid to get serious and tell you exactly what he is thinking to help you get better. Coach Paxton was probably one of the biggest selling points for me. On my visit we were able to have a lengthy conversation about training and how he goes about coaching the team. I would love to be a graduate assistant then possibly coach that the college level so I really enjoyed that he took the time to do that. I like the fact that Paxton tries to build using mostly in-state talent instead of shipping in multiple Kenyans or such and tries to keep the S.C. talent in S.C.
