Letter from SCTCCCA

Coaches,

As we get ready for the SC State Cross Country Championship, I want to wish each of you and your runners the best of luck. Please have a safe trip to and from the meet and I do hope everyone runs well.

Please read this and pass along to your athletes and parents of the athletes.

1. Parking will be $5 per car.
2. Clemson Extentsion - Sandhills Info:
a. No alteration of grounds
b. Corn Fields are off-limits. Any team or individual will be automatically disqualified
c. No team tents/tarps or setting up in ANY parking area
d. Please clean your area when you leave
***Sandhills has told us that if ANY damage is done to the cornfield or any section of their facility,
we will not be allowed to come back to their facility. PLEASE talk to all of your runners and fans
about respecting this facility.
3. If you need to make a name change on Saturday, please follow the information in your packet. You will be allowed to make changes up until 15 minutes before your scheduled race time. DO NOT TAKE numbers into the finish area! Follow the instructions in your packet.
4. Athletes need to be at the starting line AT LEAST 10 minutes before the start of their race. Coaches and non-racing athletes must leave that area 10 minutes before the start of the race. With 10 minutes prior to race, this area is an OFF-LIMITS area to coaches and non-runners. Each team (boys and girls separate) will have a random starting box number.
5. UNIFORMS: Rule 9, Section 6&7 of the NFHS Track & Field and Cross Country Rule Book. Know and follow this.
Make sure that all of your athletes conform to to uniform rule. Uniforms must match in color and design. Undergarments (if worn) MUST match and be of one solid color. Wearing of hats and gloves will be determined by meet management on the morning of the meet. Will be checked 10 minutes prior to the start time/
6. JEWERLY: No jewelry (except watches). Hair must be held in place by flat objects (no ribbons sticking out, etc.).
Will be checked 10 minutes prior to the start time.
7. Make sure that all of your athletes and fans are aware of the OFF LIMIT AREAS.
a. No one should cross the finish line flagging or be inside this area.
b. Teams cannot set up tents and tarps in the bus parking area per Clemson Extension (Sandhills).
c. No one can be in the corn fields.
d. No one, except for runners, can be at the starting area within the last 10 minutes before the start of a race.
e. No one should be on the course at anytime
Being in an OFF Limit Area will result in being DQed.
8. IF YOU NEED TO SEE ANYONE IN THE COMPUTER AREA, PLEASE COME TO THE ROPED AREA AND CALL SOMEONE TO YOU. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE FINISH LINE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ANY NUMBERS AT ALL BECAUSE THIS WILL CAUSE THE EQUIPMENT TO PICK THEM UP.
9. Any appeals in the results (other than a missed athlete) must be submitted in writing to SCTCCCA President, Eric Cummings, no later than 30 minutes after the completion of the race.
10. Meet Officials will be on the course, at the starting area and finish area.
