5th Annual

Updated schedule

Coaches & Athletes:

The 5th Annual Dorman Distance Carnival is only three days away! We are excited about the meet and hosting you and your runners. Its going to be a great opening meet. Here are some important notes regarding Saturday so please take a moment to review the information below.

The meet will now begin at 10:30 a.m. to allow the weather to warm up a bit.

We are monitoring the local weather for Friday in relation to black ice warningshoping that does not impact us for Saturday.

Heat sheets are attached. A final time schedule is below. We will do our best to stay on schedule. If we are able to run events ahead of time, we will start no more than 15 minutes early, except the 4x4 relays, which will start immediately following the Elite Mile races. This will accommodate athletes and teams who are traveling longer distances.

In your packet will be a permanent marker. Please use this to write a competitor number on each of your athletes left wrist/top of hand. This will be their assigned number for the meet. If you want to get ahead of things, grab a permanent marker and write it on them on the bus ride over. (See competitor number on heat sheets). A list of team numbers is attached.

We have 596 individual entries. If you know that an athlete is not going to compete on Saturday, please e-mail me by Friday at noon and we will drop them.

We will have automatic timing thanks to Matt Feiling. He does a great job. Results will be posted on scmilesplit.com.

School uniforms are optional. In past years, it has been a mix. This is a scrimmage meet. With the morning cold, athletes will need to have some layers, gloves, hats, etc.

You can bring checks with you to the meet. It is only $50 per team. Individual athlete entries are $10. Please give any checks directly to Coach Urban. (Our athletic secretary has informed me that payments from Broome, Riverside, and Woodmont have been received.)

There will be a $4 admission for spectators.

We have a Youth 800m run for 3rd-6th grades at the start of the meet. Let your athletes know who have younger siblings. Youth runners will get in free with one guest. Kids can still jump into that, let me know.

After the youth races we have a Community Mile for anyone to jog or runjust to promote fitness. Please let your parents know about this. Just show up.

Our concession stand will be open and selling a variety of items, including hot chocolate
