Meet Information

LIVE RESULTS!!!

Welcome to the 2024 Dorman Distance Carnival, which has turned into the "go to" early outdoor meet for distance runners in SC, NC, GA, and beyond!

This year's 9th edition of our event, promises to be our best and most competitive year!

VERY IMPORTANT - We are making the early decision to move this year's DDC to another location due to the ongoing track renovation at Dorman High School, where we will return for 2025. This year's Dorman Distance Carnival, scheduled for Saturday, February 17, will be held at Byrnes High School in Duncan, SC. This school is located within Spartanburg County, only a short drive from Dorman. It is conveniently located just off I-85, exit 63.

Elite Mile & Elite 800 Qualifying:

The top 20 entries entered in the HS Mile will be seeded into the Elite Mile, our marquee event.

The top 12 entries entered in the 800 will be seeded into the Elite 800.

Coaches & athletes, please don't request to use time trials, runs on Strava, etc. to qualify for the Elite races. ONLY VERIFIABLE TIMES in MileSplit for the 1600/Mile/800 from the prior season ('23 outdoor or '24 indoor) will be used to determine the field for the Elite races.

All of our mile races will be a true mile, not a 1600.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:15 am; a final time schedule will be posted once the meet is seeded. However, the time schedule is subject to change based on the number of entries for the meet as well as weather conditions. Once a time schedule is established, we will start events up to 15 minutes early, if we are able to...we will not start an event any earlier than that. Be aware that some of the "slower" heats could have a lot of entries.

All races will be girls followed by boys.

Awards: The winner of the Elite 800 and the Elite Mile will receive a plaque. In addition, the winner of each event this year will receive a Nike backpack and Nike sunglasses, presented by Run-In specialty store!! Thank you Run-In!

The meet is only open to athletes in 7th-12th grade. No 6th graders.

The entry portal opens on Jan. 15. A password is required from the meet director.

The entry deadline for scheduled teams is Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 11:59 p.m.! No entries will be accepted or changed after this deadline unless it is an error by meet management.

Our total individual  entries will be capped at a maximum of 750. Once that limit is reached, we cannot accept anymore entries. If you register an athlete but then realize they won't be able to compete, please drop them from the meet so someone else can potentially register. If you get an "error" message while trying to enter then that event is full.
