Daniel Alumna Laurie Barton Announces Next Step

Daniel alumna Laurie Barton announced on social media her next step in running.

Daniel alumna Laurie Barton announced on social media her next step in running. Barton will be joining Brooks Beasts. Barton was last competing as a Clemson Tiger.

Barton said in her announcement, "I'm proud to announce that I'm a beast! Looking forward to working with @dannytmackey and thankful for all the people that have gotten me to this point and provided me with this incredible opportunity! When I was torn between staying another year at Clemson (yes, I still had a whole extra year of eligibility) my coach @mark1333.10 selflessly encouraged me in my decision making process. He has always supported and fought for me as an athlete..I'm excited to see how the Lord will continue to provide for me and shape me through the highs and lows of this crazy career."In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬."

Barton is a 2016 graduate of Daniel and recently finished 22nd in the 800-meter run during the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in 2:02.54. She has a 800 personal best of 2:00.65 and the high school state track and field record in South Carolina.
