A Look Back at 2022 SCHSL Cross Country State Championships

Bishop England won the Class 2A girls cross country state title following a 40-47 victory against defending champion Greer Middle College earlier this month at Clemson Sandhills Research Center in Columbia.

The Bishops were led by freshman Nora Brahim with a runner-up finishing time of 19:24.37. Junior Madison Riley and freshman Grace Buss finished sixth and seventh, respectively, for Bishop England.

Landrum (119) finished third, followed by Academic Magnet (147) and Oceanside Collegiate Academy (187).

Oceanside Collegiate junior Siobhan Joyce was individual medalist with a time of 18:55.58.

Greer Middle College repeated as boys state champion with a 31-58 win against Bishop England.

Greer Middle College was led by senior Jake Dentler with a runner-up finishing time of 16:24.67. He came into the meet as defending individual medalist.

Freshman Beason Tuck finished fourth, while sophomore Caleb Aikenhead and freshman Jackson Tuck placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Senior Daniel Vera was 10th for GMC.

Academic Magnet (92) finished third, while Timberland (114) and Landrum (164) rounded out the top five.
