Ava Lindsey Named S.C. Gatorade CC Player of the Year

Ava Lindsey of Greenville Hurricanes was announced as South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year for South Carolina cross country after the 2024 cross country season.

Lindsey is the first girls Gatorade cross country player of the year for the Hurricanes.

Lindsey had other first place finishes in 2024 cross country at Ed Boehmke Greenville County Championships, Bob Jenkins SCTCCCA Coaches Classic, Lake Murray Invitational and Eye Opener. The season concluded for the Hurricane with a 14th place finish at the Foot Locker South Regional - earning Second Team All-Region honors.


A practiced violin player, Lindsey has volunteered locally by performing at an assisted living facility and by serving meals to veterans. An active member of her church community, she's also donated her time as part of multiple community service initiatives in association with her parish in addition to serving as a counselor at youth basketball camps.

Lindsey has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom.
