Leufroy of Marist posts 2:10.09 in 800m at Taco Bell, Redan girls finish 2nd in team standings Jim Yike Apr 10, 2005

Ena Leufroy, of Marist, posted a state best time of 2:10.09 in the 800m as she finished seconds behind Sarah Bowman, of Fauquier HS in Virginia, the nations number one 800m runner. It was a stellar performance in a field that had four Georgia athletes in the top 7 as Racquel Daly (SW Dekalb), Diaomond Marks (Redan) and Danielle Shaurette (North Gwinnett) all posted sub 2:22 times. Redans girls come off of their successful Mobile Challenge of Champions effort to finish 2nd in the team standings.

Bowman runs US#1 800 at Taco Bell Classic - 2:05.41 MileSplit Staff Apr 9, 2005

Fauquier senior Sarah Bowman continued her dominance from last spring where she ended as a national champion and national leader at 800 meters by popping a national leading time not far off her personal best with a 2:05.41 clocking at the Taco Bell Classic in South Carolina. In a field that included the likes of fellow Virginian Katie Doswell of St. Catherine\'s, Bowman left no doubt that the national title for the 800 meter run still runs through her as she won the 800 with a time two seconds faster than her 2004 win at Taco Bell. Bowman scorched a 61 second first lap to finish up with a 64 second last 400 meters to cross the line first.
