What does it mean to be named to the Shrine Bowl Run team and helping the hospital?
It is a huge honor to be a part of such a legacy. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to be able to help the
children while doing something that I love

What did you hear about the Shrine Bowl Run before this year?
I heard that it was a great experience and everyone had fun doing it. Two of my greatest friends and teammates did it last year, Colt Griffith, and Antonio Williams.

What do you hope to experience during the event?
I hope to get to know more of the other seniors, not drop the football, and have a wonderful time at the event with my fellow runner friends.

How are you preparing to run with a football?
I've been watching the Forrest Gump scene when he runs with the football all the way through the stadium.

How would you rate your senior season?
It wasn't my greatest season, but I am humbled by the wonderful opportunities in these six seasons of cross country. I've grown not only as a runner, but as a person. Some of my best friends have come from this sport. (Morgan Moseley and Colt Griffith).

What future goals do you have?
This track season my goal is to break 11 in the 3200, hit five minutes flat in the 1600, and win state in one of those events or both.

Have you made the decision to compete at the next level? Please explain.
I have decided to continue my running journey at the College of Charleston next year. One of my dreams has always been to run for a division one college. I looked into many different colleges and CofC felt like home. I can't wait to continue competing in college with Coach (Amy) Seago, and my new teammates.

How did you get involved with the sport and when?
I've been running for most of my life. My dad and mom are really big runners. I've always loved to run. I started running for the high school in seventh grade during cross country season. My dad has coached me throughout my years of cross country. I can thank him for my success.

Do you have any relation or know someone that has attended the Shriners Hospital?
I don't.

How have you seen the sport change in the state? Please explain.
I've seen so much growth. Every runner has grown stronger. I've also seen so many of my friendships grow. From seventh grade to now I've loved every minute of the racing, speedwork, hardships, and friendships. The sport in South Carolina has grown to be better as a whole.

What was your motivation for your
final XC season
I really wanted to enjoy my last season with my dad as my coach. I also wanted to leave it all on the course for my final season, and reach some of my biggest goals. I was motivated by college recruiting and my dad.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?
I really want to run in the Olympics in 2020 or 2024. It has always been my dream to make it to the Olympic stage, and be alongside all of the greats.
