Riverside senior distance runner Ty Jones announced his college commitment Monday night on social media.

Jones said in his post,
"Go 'Dins •••I'm super excited to announce my verbal commitment to Furman University to continue my academic and athletic career.There are so many people that have helped me reach this point. I want to thank Coach Gary and Coach Roberts for this amazing opportunity to join an amazing team ready to hit big goals. I'm grateful to my family, Mom and Dad, Carson and appreciate everyone else. Coach Esther, thanks for being a great role model for me the past couple of years. Coach Long and Coach McDonough, thanks for being the best for the longest time. Frank Devar, thank you for the support and mentorship over the years from freshman year to now.Thank you to Roger Bachour for helping me through countless hours of PT to get me to this point.
