The South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association honored Spring Valley junior Kate Niehaus and senior Reid Wilson as Outstanding Female and Male Athletes from the cross country season at the SCTCCCA winter meeting Saturday.

17 senior cross country athletes participated in the 2004 Shrine Bowl Run this morning. The event started at the Shriner\'s Hospital in Greenville and ended at Wofford College, home of the 2004 Shrine Bowl. 14 photographs are now online from the event.
The 2004 Shrine Bowl Run will take place this Saturday. The run, in its 19th year, will start at Greenville Shriner\'s Hospital and end at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, home of the Wofford Terriers.
Laurence F. Sanders, a regular contributor to the South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association awarded athletes from the State Cross Country Championships based on their performances in Columbia.
Following a showdown that ended with Greer and Daniel\'s No. 6 runner the Yellow Jackets captured their third consecutive girl\'s state cross country title on Nov. 6 in Columbia, 62-62 over the Lions.
Diana Willard, a senior at Swansea High School captured her sixth state cross country title on Nov. 6, the most a cross country athlete can win in South Carolina. Willard, captured four of the state titles as an athlete for Pelion prior to joining the Swansea team for the 2003 season.

The State Championships is taking place in Columbia at Sandhills Research Park this Saturday, Nov. 6. Last season the meet took place at Fort Jackson. Due to weather damage at Fort Jackson earlier this year the meet was changed back to Sandhills. Sandhills was the state meet course in 2001 and 2002.
