Tennessee freshman Abigail Smith (Riverside) has been named the SEC Women's Freshman of the Week, as announced by the Southeastern Conference office on Tuesday.
Smith, a Riverside graduate, finished 27th at the Bulldog SEC Preview on Sept. 9 with a time of 23:07.60. She was third among all freshmen in a race that also featured runners from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Louisiana State University and Mercer.
