Ed's Ramblings - State History Answers

I have spent hours poring over results and putting various pieces of information into spreadsheets.  I then spent time combining classifications and boys with girls and sorting by this and that.  All I can say is that I love spreadsheets!  As promised, below are the answers to the questions I published on Monday.  I have done my best to eliminate errors as I transferred data from one spreadsheet to another.  And I am certain that my eyes crossed at a few spots and I missed a part of an answer somewhere. If you find a mistake or even question something I would love to hear from you.  In a couple of weeks after all of the State Meet hype has worn down I will send my spreadsheets to John Olson so that he can publish them online.  If you have other questions along the lines of the ones I made up send them to me and let me see what I can come up with.

Previous column: Ed's Ramblings - State History: What Do You Know?

The whole idea of these questions is to try to get you, my dear readers, to dig into our history and see where your schools and past teammates have influenced the high school running community.
These questions are mere challenges to make you consider the importance of the ones who came before you.  I hope you know your own school history and these questions can show how you relate to all of the rest of the programs.

Saturday will be the 48th
running of our State Championships (if you don't include the unofficial 1969 meet) After Saturday nine team and individual state champions, 135 All-Staters and 100s of individual performances will become part of this history.  Best of luck to all of you.
